Drawing (Fundamental)
This course introduces the various media and techniques of drawing.
Topics include dry media such as pencil, graphite, charcoal, pastel and
oil stick; and wet media such as pen, brush, ink and watercolour. Emphasis
will be on rendering skills, such as light, shadows, textures, shapes,
forms, perspectives, and compositions. Focus will be on still-life. Liberal
techniques will also be explored, which include contour, gesture and memory
drawing. Selected work by artists of various periods will be discussed.
There will be in-class exercises, home assignments and group critiques.
